Online privacy in the technocreep age

webinar

Smart homes and voice-activated digital assistants. Personalized shopping and dining recommendations. Mobile driving directions updated in real time to help us avoid traffic jams. Many of us delight in the convenience of these technologies, but at what cost to our privacy and security?

In this webinar, UCalgary researchers examine the types of data that companies, institutions and governments are collecting about us, how some organizations are monetizing that information, and why we need to be diligent in understanding the privacy and security implications of the digital tools we choose to use. Watch to learn about the latest developments in online security, including emerging solutions for taking greater control over how your data is collected and used.
