Barry Sanders is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCalgary’s Faculty of Science and director of the university’s Institute for Quantum Science and Technology. He is Editor-in-Chief of the New Journal of Physics and a Canadian Institute for Advanced Research Senior Fellow in quantum information science.
Barry is well-known for seminal contributions to theories of quantum-limited measurement, highly nonclassical light, practical quantum cryptography and optical implementations of quantum information tasks. His current research interests include nonlinear quantum optics, algorithmic quantum simulation, coherent quantum transport in protein complexes and implementations of quantum information.
